Zune Software Update Could Yield HD Movies
Sep 04, 2009 - By Jared Newman

Microsoft is hinting of great things to come with a software update complimenting the Zune HD’s launch. The Zune’s newsletter states, rather ambiguously, that the new Zune software will be “packed with exciting new features.” Electronista points to a rumor of 720p movies that surfaced earlier this year. That makes sense given that high-definition playback, along with HDMI output to external monitors, is a key feature of the upcoming media player. On the other hand, the update could be a more simple one that accomodates the Zune HD’s support for apps. We’ll find out on September 15, when the Zune HD hits stores. [Engadget via Electronista]
