zunehd Zune HD Now Available, Plays Games

Starting as a little rumor, Microsoft’s Zune HD is finally all grown up, into a tangible product that you can buy today. The Zune HD costs $220 for a 16 GB model and $290 for 32 GB. We already knew about the portable media player’s 480 x 272 resolution touch screen, HDMI output, HD Radio and Wi-Fi connectivity. What’s strange is that the player’s support for games and apps wasn’t confirmed until launch day. Upcoming games include Project Gotham Racing: Ferrari Edition, Vans Sk8: Pool Service and Audiosurf Tilt. For now, games and apps will be free and developed in-house or in close connection with third parties. So, don’t expect an iPhone App Store-style deluge of fart and flashlight apps just yet.
