Zune HD is Selling Well?

The Zune HD was released with much fanfare last week, but if you want one, don’t go to Amazon, Fry’s or Best Buy. All three retailers appear to be dealing with a supply shortage for either or both the 16 GB and 32 GB models. Amazon, for instance, says there’s a one- to three-week shipping delay for the 32 GB Zune HD, while Fry’s has the 16 GB model on back order. Best Buy’s fresh out of both. Now, I tend to be skeptical that this is a sure sign of knock-out sales. After all, the appearance of scarcity can create even more demand, and if sales really are as good as they seem, I’m sure we’ll be hearing about it from Microsoft soon. For now, Microsoft’s online store appears to be your best bet for the Zune HD, as the company is selling both sizes with no sign of a shortage. [via Electronista]
