Yahoo and Twitter Team Up To Bring Feeds to Yahoo Accounts
By Chris Weiss
Yahoo and Twitter have announced plans to offer Twitter feeds on all of Yahoo’s hot spots–email accounts, Sports and Yahoo homepages are mentioned. Twitter feeds will also show up in Yahoo search results, and a variety of Yahoo properties will feature real-time public Twitter updates including Yahoo News, Finance and Entertainment. Users will also be able to update status and share content on Twitter from the comfort of Yahoo’s websites.
Twitter feeds in search results will begin to show up immediately and the rest of the details of the deal will roll out later this year.
Is there any escaping social media? Frankly, my friends aren’t that interesting that I want to automatically see them show up in my inbox or websites all day every day. It’s getting to the point where you can’t even take a virtual step out into the Web without seeing someone that you know. Wasn’t the beauty of the Internet being able to waste hours on end without ever having a forced, awkward run-in with acquaintances? How I long for those good ol’ days. [via PC World and LA Times]
