A woman in Chicago got more attention than she bargained for when tweeting about allegedly moldy conditions in her apartment. Amanda Bonnen took to Twitter to complain that her apartment managers didn’t care about her situation, writing in part, “Who said sleeping in a moldy apartment was bad for you? Horizon realty thinks it’s okay.” Horizon Group Management quickly slapped a lawsuit on Bonnen, seeking $500,000 in damages, without even asking her to take down the malicious tweet. Lost on Horizon spokesman Jeffrey Michael is the idea that all this publicity will surely draw more negative attention to the company. But his quote explains it all: “We’re a sue first, ask questions later kind of an organization,” he said. God bless America. [via Chicago Sun-Times]

That picture can't be real. And if it is, what a horrible condition that apartment is in. Mold can kill, I can't imagine living in a place that looked like that all over the ceiling.

It's not the actual apartment, imo. That management company is apparently full of morons. American litigation is a major contributor to our rapid decline. Greed and stupidity runs rampant. This story is evidence.
