Withings Wi-Fi Scale Talks to iPhones

Stepping onto traditional scales is great for fleeting moments of depression, but Withings’ fully-connected scale ensures that your pound count and other vitals stay in your thoughts. In addition to measuring weight, the scale calculates fat mass, lean mass and body mass index with small electrical currents. Using Wi-Fi, the scale beams its findings to the Internet — secured by password, of course — where they can be tracked over time as graphs. In case a computer doesn’t allow you to obsess enough, there’s an accompanying iPhone app that lets you track progress on the go.
