Windows Phone 7 to Launch on October 11
By Chris Weiss
For those of you excited for the launch of Windows Phone 7 (are there people excited about it?), there’s now a solid date. Granted it’s only a rumor, but it’s looking like Windows Phone 7 will officially launch on October 11. According to Pocket-lint and its “multiple sources,” Microsoft will launch the new mobile OS at an event in New York. Handsets featuring Microsoft’s latest iteration of mobile operation will launch later in the month, as the report goes.
Microsoft introduced Windows Phone 7, an operating system renamed from the “Windows Mobile series,” at Mobile World Congress earlier this year, but didn’t indicate a launch window for the OS. Phone 7 handset manufacturers are set to include Dell, Asus and HTC.
Microsoft didn’t provide a comment for Pocket-lint’s report, but it’s looking like next month is the month for Phone 7. We suspect it should go better than the Kin handsets. [via Pocket-lint]
