Don’t feel bad if you haven’t gotten around to updating your system to Windows 7 just yet. According to reports, a Microsoft employee was caught writing up a few mind farts on MSDN about the next iteration of Windows, which he called ‘Windows.next’. His blog post was subsequently pulled down by the powers that be.

According to the suspect in question, Windows.next…or Windows 8 if you’d prefer (we sure would)…will be “completely different from what folks usually expect of Windows” and “change the way people think about PCs and the way they use them.” Much like Windows 7 and its obnoxious commercials, the next OS will draw on user feedback to create the new experience.

In an unrelated conversation, regional VP John Mangelaars was quoted as stating that “Windows 8 will be mind-blowing.”

While we’d expect MS employees to be pretty jazzed (yes, we think jazzed is about the right term for an MS employee), the excitement level behind the sentiments offered thus far has gotten us eager for the next-generation of Windows. Too bad it’s a few years off. [via Engadget]
