Wii MotionPlus: It’s a Hit

Recession be damned, Nintendo’s got a glimmer of hope thanks to surging sales of its Wii MotionPlus peripheral. The add-on, which makes the Wii Remote far more accurate and sensitive than before, has sold 500,000 copies in just eight days, when packaged with the party game Wii Sports Resort. Last month, when the MotionPlus was released as a bundle with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, that game sold 272,400 copies. This is great news for people who want Wii games with better motion control, because it proves to game publishers and developers that consumers are interested in the peripheral. It’s only a matter of time before my dream of a serious swordfighting game comes true. [via Ars Technica]
