Wii Hits the 20 Million Mark
Jun 15, 2009 - By Chris Weiss
After selling around 289,500 units in May, Nintendo Wii has officially sold to the tune of 20 Million units–in just 31 months on the market. That’s 20 million consumers that are now slightly less slovenly. As if the raw numbers weren’t painful enough, Nintendo used the occasion to throw a left jab at Microsoft and Sony’s recently-announced foray into motion-based gaming: “The continued enthusiastic consumer response to our products shows that Nintendo has something for everyone. For Nintendo, precision motion controls and social gaming are realities today,” said Nintendo Executive VP of Sales and Marketing, Cammie Dunaway. Clearly, Nintendo believes that a bit of offense is the best defense. [via 1 Up]
