Walmart’s 17-Inch Toshiba Satellite, For the Price of a Netbook
Aug 13, 2009 - By Jared Newman

Toshiba’s working the cheapy circuit with its 17-inch Satellite L355 notebook, for sale at Walmart for $350. The result, according to Laptop magazine, is actually not too bad. You get 3 GB of RAM, a 250 GB hard drive, running on a 2.2-GHz Intel Celeron 900 processor with Windows Vista Basic. The inclusion of Harmon Kardon speakers and USB ports that charge your gadgets when the computer’s in sleep more are nice touches, and the thing’s surprisingly light. Sure, the hard drive’s a little slow, and there’s no Web cam, but you could buy external add-ons and still come up saving money over most laptops. All you really lose here is your pride, after you buy a butt-ugly computer from Walmart. [Laptop Mag via Gizmodo]
