Video sunglasses have a way of tipping the scales of geekdom a little too far for comfort, in my opinion. However, the Wrap 310s by Vuzix promise the viewing experience of watching a 55-inch television from 10 feet away, all while allowing you to “watch your favorite movies and videos without attracting stares”. Up until those around you realize that you’re wearing sunglasses with hardware and wires jutting out. Then it’s “stare at the giant geek” time. For those that still want a piece of these video shades, they offer 428×240 widescreens for each eyeball and provide either 16:9 or 4:3 ratio. The glasses also play both 2D and 3D content. With composite video and two expansion connectors, the Wraps connect to a variety of devices including iPhone, DVD players, desktops and laptops.

When it comes to use, you’ll get six hours on two AA batteries. Contrast, brightness and color saturation are all user-adjustable. Audio is handled through a pair of premium-quality, noise-isolating earphones. For those that prefer a little touch of personal flair, Vuzix also plans to offer interchangeable lenses in different colors. Rest assured that the glasses fit over prescription glasses and include a hypoallergenic nosepiece–because Wrap users are pretty likely to wear glasses and have allergies. The glasses run $250 and are available at Vuzix’s website. [via iPodnn]
