Video Game Sales Continue to Drop: Wii Feels the Sting
By Chris Weiss
Hopefully Nintendo really drank it in when it hit the 20 million mark with the Wii, because it’s been downhill ever since. In a fifth straight month of video game sales declines, Nintendo Wii and DS sales plummeted 30% from last month. For Wii, that’s a 54% slide from last July. Xbox 360 dropped 16%, the PSP 15%, the PS3 16%, and the PS2 29%–bad news all around. In some rallying news for Microsoft, the Xbox 360 has shown 17% growth overall during the first seven months of the year, making it the only console to exhibit growth. On the game side, sales are down 14% from last year. In order for sales to hit a break-even with last year, it’s been estimated they’ll need to come in 11% over last year’s numbers for the rest of 2009. [via Yahoo Tech]

It's really bad news but as we can see Sony is doing their best surpass this crisis, they already cut down the price of PS's but I'm still waiting for Nintendo to do the same. Luckily, Xbox 360 is the only one who exhibit growth, applause for their affordable prices. Anyway, I'm thinking whether to grab PS2 now or wait for another price cut down, maybe I'll be willing to wait until holiday seasons. Lol, saving some bucks for the release of Aion Online that's the main reason.
