Verizon iPhone Back With a Vengeance
By Chris Weiss
Major news outlets are back on the Verizon iPhone bandwagon with what looks like the strongest confirmation yet that the CDMA iPhone is coming within the next six months. Citing “two people familiar with the plans,” Bloomberg reports that the Verizon iPhone will be hitting the market in January, ending AT&T’s stronghold on America’s favorite smartphone. Not surprisingly, Apple and Verizon spokespersons did not speak to the new rumor.
While the iPhone remains the phone to beat here in the U.S., it is likely that it will get even stronger with a Verizon option. Issues with AT&T’s coverage have been a popular target for complaints and invective, though the iPhone’s most recent reception issues have nothing to do with AT&T.
So will a Verizon option convince you to buy/stick with an iPhone or will you opt for a HTC EVO, Motorola Droid X, Blackberry or another phone altogether? [via Bloomberg]
