Venture Capital Investments Plunge in Second Quarter – While there is rarely a shortage of good ideas and fresh startups to invest in, the money just wasn’t there in Q2 2009.  VC investments dove 51% to $3.7 billion invested between April and July of this year.  That drop led to the slowest flow of VC investment money in 12 years.  That $3.7 billion was divided between 612 VC deals according to Price Waterhouse Coopers, Thomson Reuters and the National Venture Capital Association.  What does this mean for the tech world?  If you’re a tech startup without a rock solid and scalable business model, times are certainly tough.  Will that number raise in the third quarter of ‘09?  We’re hoping this is the rock bottom before another steady climb.
