Upgrade Your iPhone with Full Ion Keyboard

As slick as the iPhone is, the one thing that it has always lacked is a physical keypad for us to tantalize our digits on. And  if you’re going to add a keypad, why not make it a full-sized keyboard that offers all the comforts and typing power of your computer?

Ion has introduced the iType at CES, a nearly full-sized keyboard that syncs with iPhone. Dock the iPhone on the keyboard in landscape mode and enjoy the advantages of a large, physical keyboard. It might seem a little odd typing on such a large board while staring at your tiny, 3.5-inch iPhone screen, but it shouldn’t take long for the benefits to overpower the awkwardness. The iType runs on its own battery so there’s no drain on your phone.

Ion presented two separate prototypes, one silver and one gloss black, and stated that the keyboard should be ready for a Q2 release. Pricing is set for just over $100. [via RegHardware]
