Unlimited Data Will Be Offered to All iPad Buyers Who Order By June 7

Earlier in the week, two pieces of news aligned to look like bad news for all future iPad owners. IPad sales reached two million and have been so strong that iPads are selling out at retailers around the country, particularly the 16GB 3G models. Apple has also pushed back delivery times on its online store.

At the same time, AT&T restructured its data plans, eliminating unlimited data. Current smartphone and iPad owners will get grandfathered in with unlimited plans, but with new iPads becoming hard to find, it’s not looking likely for you to get one before the new plans go into effect on Monday.

AT&T has recognized the problem and extended the $30 unlimited plan to all those that order iPads before June 6 at 11:59 p.m. So you don’t actually have to have your iPad in hand, so long as you place your order for the tablet by Sunday. That gives you a whole weekend to beg and borrow your way to a 3G iPad. [via Bits]
