Twitter Opens Up Its Terms of Service to Advertising

As exposively popular as Twitter has been, it hasn’t been much of a cash cow. Seeking to address this disparity and turn a profit from the 45 million or so monthly visitors, Twitter is broadening its terms of service to allow for advertising. The wording is rather open-ended: “The services may include advertisements, which may be targeted to the content or information on the services, queries made through the services, or other information. The types and extent of advertising by Twitter on the services are subject to change.” As long as we don’t start getting bombarded with tweets about “unreal” 0% credit card deals and dating sites full of amorous local singles, we’re all for Twitter making some dough.
