Tissot Lets You Try on Watches in the Comfort of Your Bedroom
By Chris Weiss
Over on the auto arm of our network, I spend a lot of time detailing fancy car configurators that allow users to design all kinds of cars that they’ll never actually drive. Now you can also equip one of driving wrists with a watch you may or may not be able to afford.
While a ways down the price scale from Rolex, Tissot is a purveyor of some fancy Swiss sport watches that are often found in the upper-three- and four-digit range. I, and many like me, won’t be buying these for another pay raise or two, but we can now spend some time finding just the right one for when that day comes.
The new app requires that you simply print out a paper wristband, download a little software and switch on your webcam. You can then preview Tissot’s Touch line of watches by holding your hairy wrist in front of the cam. You can take a look at all the different styles that the Touch line has to give, and can even activate different functions with the help of your mouse.
Not only is this a great way to shop for a new watch, it’s a fun way of wasting work time (and at least one piece of office paper). If you’re more of a visual kind of character, you can see the video depiction below or launch it for yourself at Tissot’s website.[via CrunchGear]
