I-Swarm 2

These tiny little robots are powered by a built-in solar cell and controlled via infrared. Each I-Swarm robot features four legs–three for movement and the fourth for sensing objects and other robots around them. The European engineers behind these little bots indicated that by adding a ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit), they could be used for micro-manufacturing, medical purposes, surveillance and cleaning. Not listed among the cited uses, but always a constant worry, is sending an army into various bodily orifices to eat your vital organs. [via Dvice]
