Dell Streak 7 Dell Streak 7 Is Out And It Packs 4G

4G has officially made its way to the tablet market. Dell introduced its bigger, badder Streak today and the tablet will bring 4G speed.

As you probably Sherlocked by now, the Streak 7 features a 7-inch screen (compared to the standard 5-inch Streak). The tablet gets a variety of solid specs including a 5-MP rear camera, 1.3-MP front-facing cam and 1 GHz Tegra 2 processor, but its most interesting claim to fame is 4G compatibility, namely on T-Mobile’s network.

Good news: Dell has finally released pricing and availability information for the Streak tablet. Bad news: it’s another AT&T exclusive.

The Dell Streak is coming this week, Friday the 13th to be exact. It’ll cost a little-higher-than-expected $549, or $300 with two-year contract. And again, AT&T has got the rights to the thing–and that’s true even for the $550 version; it’s locked into AT&T.

According to word out of D8 yesterday, Dell has finally provided the last two key details on its Streak tablet: pricing and availability. Last week when U.K. availability was penned in, Dell stuck to the ol’ “later this summer” for the U.S. The more specific answer to the question is that it will be available beginning in July, though a hard date still seems to be elusive. The tablet will slide into that lowest-tier-iPad price slot of $500 and will come unlocked. It’ll be available through Dell’s website.

The Dell Leak Streak has gotten its official availability tag, and it will be launching in early-June in the U.K. The U.S. launch will come no earlier than “later this summer,” according to a blog post over on Dell’s website. That’s pretty much the same line that Michael Dell already gave, albeit a little more specific with “early June.”

First finding its way into the rumor circle back in June,  Dell’s MID has become the subject of a number of leaked photos and video originally ran by Tinhte.com. The new device labeled “Streak” runs Android 2.0 Donut and features a 5-inch touchscreen with 800 x 480 resolution, Wi Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, 5MP camera with dual-LED flash and microSD expansion slot. It will compete with similar devices such as the recently-released Archos 5, and it will join the Dell smartphone that has been confirmed for U.S. sales.
