The recent MyType study reveals iPad owners are six times more likely to be “wealthy, well-educated, power-hungry, over-achieving, sophisticated, unkind and non-altruistic 30-50 year olds,” according to MyType’s Tim Koelkebeck [via Wired].
In another (even less scientific) study conducted here at uCrave, we discovered these same iPad owners are six times more likely to be drawn to tacky, useless iPad accessories that appeal to their over-inflated sense of self. When I showed the iCade (Think Geek’s April Fool’s Joke), to iPad owning friends – every one of them expressed interest in acquiring the iPad Arcade Cabinet. Judging from some actual iPad accessories, the fictional iCade wasn’t such a far-fetched concept.

For years, Apple’s thorn has been the Pwnage tool, which lets pretty much anybody get their iPhone onto the network they want with a relative minimum of fuss. Despite AT&T screaming about it, Apple hasn’t done much, for Apple. It’s almost like they’re encouraging it! Nah…
Anyway, the latest go-round features freedom for everybody, with one notable exception: the iPad 2.

Go ahead, take a guess. Did Apple have 50% of the tablet market? 60%? Maybe a really dominant 75%. After all, the iPad was enormously popular, but 2010 saw more tablets hit the market in direct competition from major players like Samsung. Surely these consumer electronics behemoths, partnered with major cellular carriers, were able to carve a piece of the market out for themselves.
No. No, they really weren’t.

To kick off Tablet Tuesdays, we thought we’d open with this hilarious story about an Apple nerd proposing to his girlfriend using an engraved iPad. Were we her, we’d be concerned about how often he describes Apple products as “magical”, but anyway, here’s the latest tablet news from around the web.

Normally, we’d stretch out the “O” in “Jobs”, but that just looks like we were yelling “JOOBS!” and we have no idea what “joobs” even are. Boobs for the dyslexic? (OK, actually, it’s a Romanian jobs website, but that’s just off-topic
Anyway, yeah, iOS 5, better known as the update that will make your iPhone better, is being delayed to fall. Why? To sell you music! And the iPad 3!
