Endeavour 3 Space Shuttle Endeavour Preparing to Launch Tomorrow

After being grounded last month due to a leaking tanking fuel tank, Endeavour is back up and ready for launch. The shuttle is scheduled for a 16-day mission which includes carrying the final components of Japan’s Kibo labratory. Final preparations are being made for tomorrow’s 7:39 p.m. ET launch. Of course, as is always true with space shuttle launches, the weather will have the final say as to whether the shuttle actually gets launched, and the 40% chance of clear weather isn’t looking promising. Thunderstorms are in the forecast around Kennedy Space Center and NASA will need a break in the clouds to get the shuttle into space. The launch window is 10 minutes. If not, it will be delayed, yet again, but only by a day. [via USA Today] [Photo: Jurvetson]
