Sony Ericsson Aino Comes to America, No Carrier

I feel like I’ve been hearing about Sony Ericsson’s Aino forever, and now it’s finally coming to the United States as an unsubsidized phone. That means it’ll cost more than your average under-contract phone, at $600, but you’ll have the freedom to shop it to a variety of carriers. The 3-inch display is touchable, but I see no mention of multi-touch. There’s also a slide-out number pad that slides out from the bottom when held vertically. Nothing spectacular there; the Aino’s real treats are the 8.1-megapixel camera and Remote Play feature, which lets you stream movies, music and photo from a Playstation 3. You can even turn the console on and off from afar, should you forget to hit the power button when you leave the house.
There are some other nice features on the Aino as well, such as Clear Stereo and Clear Bass technology for music listening, drag-and-drop media transfer, wireless transfer to a PC when your phone is connected to its charger, an FM radio tuner and integrated aGPS. As a bonus, the Aino ships with a Bluetooth headset and comes bundled with an 8 GB microSDHC card. No iTunes or Amazon, of course; your purchased media will come from the Playstation Store. I bought the phone 3 weeks ago and I love it. I took it to Tmobile and added a flexplan and data plan on it. Note: Tmobile does NOT have 3G with this phone due to their frequency of 1700 as opposed to ATT 1900. That said it works fine in EDGE and WIFI. Also the tpuch screen is fine when its closed and it has some limited functions. the bluetooth headset is fantastic i might add. If u try to set your MMS and Inet with this phone you just need to go to SOny Ericsson's site and search under UK. Thats the support page and you can have the settings set for whatever carrier and not have to screw with the settings.
