Sony and Best Buy Create ATLUS Wireless Speakers

Rule number one of expensive wireless speakers: They have to look awesome. Sony’s ATLUS speakers, to be sold through Best Buy, SonyStyle and “other select retailers,” aren’t the snazziest looking systems on the market, but we’ll give them a pass because they’re also not egregiously costly. There’s the $500 ALT-SA32PC, which uses a USB receiver to control its two wireless speakers, the $200 ALT-SA33PC that communicates with existing speakers through an RCA universal transmitter, the $700 ALT-SA31iR wireless speaker system for the iPod and the $400 AIR-SA10Ti iPod docking station with built-in speakers and subwoofer. Finally, there’s the SA34R Socket Speaker Package, a $350 item that pumps the volume from any S-AIR-enabled transmitter to any power outlet in the home. If you’ve got the means, you’ll never trip over a power cord again. Look for most of these products next month. [Press Release via CrunchGear]
