Social Networking Gets Even More Invasive: Facebook Location Updates
Mar 10, 2010 - By Chris Weiss
Not content enough with sharing your every life moment and brain fart via updates, photos, video and text? Do you really need to dole out more information about exactly what you’re doing every moment of every day? Well, you’re in luck. According to the New York Times, America’s favorite social networking site will launch a new location update feature next month. The feature will allow you to share your location with friends, so that all those annoying people from high school that tracked you down via the Web can now know exactly where you are in the physical world too.
Don’t worry if that doesn’t sound like your cup of java, Facebook plans to offer it as an opt-in feature.
In related news, Twitter was caught playing around with its own geolocation feature yesterday. The feature went live on Twitter and was then shut back down. [via Bits and TechCrunch]

Your friends will know where you are, but so will the crooks. Do a B&E job before you get home. You really didn't want that flat screen and computer anyway. Careful what you ask for.
