Small Package, Small Price–Kodak’s New 1080p Zi8 Pocket Cam

Bringing an increased level of performance to the pocket video cam, Kodak has unveiled the HD Zi8. In addition to being able to record 1080p HD, the Zi8 includes electronic image stabilizer, SDHC card slot and external microphone jack. It’s also capable of taking 5 MP 16:9 widescreen HD stills and is supposed to offer enhanced color and detail in low light. It will be available in September for $180 in aqua, raspberry and black. For those of you that haven’t been lurking in the pocket cam market, that’s right around the same price as the Flip UltraHD, which is limited to 720p and has no external storage capability.
