4G customers now have options. At least they will on August 31 when the Samsung Epic 4G launches on Sprint. Sprint announced the pricing and availability today. The phone will be more expensive than the HTC EVO 4G, running $250 with mail-in rebate and two-year agreement.

The Epic 4G features a 1 GHz processor, Android 2.1 and a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen. Unlike the EVO, the Epic offers a slide-out Qwerty for those that still like to get physical with their typing. Other specs include Wi-Fi hot-spotting for up to five other devices, 5-megapixel camera, front-facing camera and DLNA wireless media streaming. As to the latter, you’ll be able to get TV and movie content through the Samsung Media Hub, which will launch after the phone.

The Epic will get upgraded to Android 2.2 in the coming months.

If you’re wondering exactly how the EVO and Epic stack up, Sprint’s got an easy, two-minute way to compare. View the video to see how Samsung’s handset differentiates itself from HTC’s. [via Computerworld and Engadget]
