Reader Daily Edition: Sony’s 3G E-Reader
By Jared NewmanSony is slow-playing the introduction of its new e-readers, adding a third to the line-up just as the other two are going on sale. The Sony Reader Daily Edition is the most expensive of the trio, at $399, compared to $299 for the Touch Edition and $199 for the Pocket Edition. For that extra cash, you’ll get 3G connectivity to AT&T’s mobile broadband network for downloading e-books on the road, with no monthly fees or transaction charges (a plain old USB 2.0 connection works as well). The Daily Edition’s screen is also larger than its siblings, measuring 7 inches, compared to 6 inches for the Touch and 5 inches for the Pocket. If you’ve got deep pockets, you’ll still need patience, because the Daily Edition’s not coming until December. [Sony via Macworld]
