polytune1 PolyTune Streamlines Guitar Tuning for the 21st Century

The life of a musician is hard enough. Playing music for a living. Parties. Girls. Booze. Girls. Drugs. Girls. Girls. You get the point; musicians have enough to do without worrying about spending piles of time tuning their equipment. So, TC Electronic has debuted its PolyTune, which it describes as the world’s first polyphonic tuner.

Those of you who never put a hand to a guitar are probably wondering what the hell that means. It means that you can simply strum the strings of your guitar and the stomp-box-sized PolyTune will automatically let you know if any are out of tune. It’s what TC calls Strum-Tune-Rock–they even have the devil horns to prove just how hard it rocks. You tune all the strings at once, rather than individually, and can turn your attention to what really matters–playing guitar for the sexy red head in the back corner of the room. Yes…girls, again.

The PolyTune works with both guitar and bass. No pricing or availability info appears to be ready yet, but the device will be on display at the NAMM show in California, which started yesterday.

Not quite sold? Watch it in action below. [TC Electronic via Dvice]
