E-Reader market not crowded enough for you yet? Then check out Plastic Logic’s “Que” proReader, designed for “business professionals” (Read: People who will shell out a lot of money for a fancier product). The idea here is to go beyond the usual book store downloads, newspaper subscriptions and free PDFs found in traditional readers, letting users read documents in Word, PowerPoint and Excel as well. The hardware is 8.5- by 11-inches — the size of a sheet of paper — measures less than a third of an inch thick and weighs “less than many periodicals,” Plastic Logic claims. And it’s a touch screen device.

Other features include a shatterproof plastic display, Wi-Fi through AT&T’s network and a book store powered by Barnes & Noble. Though Plastic logic won’t give specifics, the Que’s battery reportedly lasts for “days, instead of hours.” Price and Availability? Poppycock! That’ll have to wait until CES in January, when Plastic Logic really, seriously draws the curtain. So this was just an announcement of an announcement — something to keep Plastic Logic on the radar as everyone and their mothers get into the e-reader game. That’s a fair strategy, provided that all those business types haven’t already put an e-reader on their holiday wish lists. [Que via Pocket-Lint]
