Pandigital’s New E-Book Reader: Color, Android-Powered and $200
By Chris Weiss
If you’ve been waiting for the wonderful world of color to open up your e-reading experience and don’t want to throw down $500 on an iPad to get there, this new Pandigital Novel e-reader looks like just the ticket. Priced at a sub-Kindle/Nook $200, the Pandigital brings a seven-inch color touchscreen and Barnes and Noble e-book support, providing access to over a million books as well as B&N’s LendMe feature.
The Novel connects with Wi-Fi, features Android, an ARM 11 processor, 1 GB of internal storage, an expansion slot for up to 32 gigs worth of SD/MMC cards, a battery rated at six hours, and resolution of 800 x 600. In addition to e-reading, the Novel features a Web browser and multimedia capabilities (video, music, photos), making it sort of a light tablet.
The Novel will hit the market in June and appears to be a very solid e-reading option at a solid price. [via CNET]
