Panasonic Produces 50-Inch 3D Plasma TV
By Chris Weiss
Three dimensional HDTV moves closer and closer. Panasonic has announced that it’s produced a 50-inch plasma display that works with the active shutter glasses in its 3D HD system. The television relies upon Panasonic’s high-speed 3D Drive technology to illuminate pixels, keeping movement smooth and rapid while maintaining a bright picture. The television alternates left and right eye 1080p images per frame and the shutters on the glasses provide a merging of left and right eye imaging to create the final 3D effect. Panasonic will be showing off a prototype version of the 3D system at CEATEC Japan show on October 6th and expects to have it in stores by next year, though no pricing has yet been made available.
