Official Dell Streak Pricing and Availability Info
By Chris Weiss
Good news: Dell has finally released pricing and availability information for the Streak tablet. Bad news: it’s another AT&T exclusive.
The Dell Streak is coming this week, Friday the 13th to be exact. It’ll cost a little-higher-than-expected $549, or $300 with two-year contract. And again, AT&T has got the rights to the thing–and that’s true even for the $550 version; it’s locked into AT&T.
In case, you’ve forgotten over the Streak’s slow, half-year plod to market, it is a 5-inch tablet device that basically splits the difference between the standard tablet and the smartphone. It’ll ship with Android 1.6, but will be upgraded for 2.2 later this year. It’s powered by a 1-gig Snapdragon processor.
Accessories that will be available for the Streak include a car dock to turn it into a Google Maps-based nav system, and an audio/video dock that allows you to connect it to an HDTV/audio system.
After the new announcement, I find the Streak less compelling than ever. [via Direct2Dell]
