Nintendo Drops Some Info On 3DS Portable System

Nintendo's first portable 3D system--the Virtual Boy
Gamers have been enjoying Nintendo’s DS variants for a number of years now and it’s about that time for a completely new device. Nintendo provided a few details on the next-gen system today in anticipation of a more official E3 debut. With the new system, Nintendo will pledge allegiance to the 3D camp and offer a 3D device tentatively called 3DS (we can’t imagine how that won’t end up being the final product name; it’s meant to be).
Don’t worry about looking like a complete geek on the subway because the new system will play 3D games without the need for glasses. Makes us wonder just how “3D” it will look, but we’ll have to wait for an answer on that. The system is due out sometime next year.
Nintendo didn’t offer up any other details, but we’ll get those in June and hopefully earlier. [via GearLog]
