Nikon Coolpix S1000pj to Feature a Projector

Imagine a future where you can capture a slew of vacation photos and bore relatives to tears with the full slideshow all with one device. When said relatives invite you over to their house specifically to avoid the obligatory post-vacation presentation, thinking you’d never lug along your projector equipment, they’ll be in for a real surprise when you pop out your cam-projector. Rumors are gaining steam that one of the next Nikon Coolpix cams hitting retailers will include a built-in projector. The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj (codenamed V650) is suspected of featuring a projector able to cast an image up to 40 inches in size. The camera will also include a remote control and projector stand as part of the standard package. On the camera side, you’ll get 12.1 megapixels and a 5x Zoom-Nikkor lens with 28mm wide-angle coverage. The retail price is expected to be $699 AUD (around $587). The world has been waiting for a device that features a built-in pico projector, and it looks like we have one. [via Engadget]
