xbox 360 New Study Puts Numbers to Xbox Failures

If you’ve been enjoying your Xbox 360 for more than two years, consider yourself pretty fortunate. Just over 23% of your comrades haven’t been so lucky. According to a new study by SquareTrade, 23.7% of Microsoft Xbox 360s fail within the first two years. While that sounds like a blow to Microsoft, it’s actually an improvement over numbers from past studies that sailed all the way upwards of 50%. To compare, PlayStation 3s were at a 10% failure rate while Wii users were lucky enough to skate by with a mere 2.7%. As far as what exactly constituted the fail–PlayStation and Xbox issues were largely disc read and output problems, while Wii issues were of the power and remote control varieties. [via Engadget]
