New iPhone On Its Way Back to Apple
By Chris Weiss
Gizmodo’s lost-and-found iPhone is in the process of getting back to its rightful owner. Apple sent out an official letter to the blog requesting it back, stating: “It has come to our attention that GIZMODO is currently in possession of a device that belongs to Apple. This letter constitutes a formal request that you return the device to Apple. Please let me know where to pick up the unit.”
Gizmodo seems all too happy to give it back as the letter verifies the authenticity of the new iPhone. The blog had requested a formal claim of ownership on the record and got one once the letter arrived.
So that’s all we’ll be hearing of iPhone 4G until some unknown date in the future when Apple decides to bring it back out. It was a unique opportunity to see an Apple product back, front, up and down before Apple was ready to give a grand debut. Now we wait. [via Gizmodo]
