New Flip Video Camera Features Slider Design and Touchscreen
By Chris Weiss
Cisco has announced the latest Flip camera headed to market and it looks more like a slider phone than a traditional camcorder. The new Flip SlideHD includes a three-inch touchscreen for navigating through and playing video content. The touchscreen also offers recording controls, eliminating the hard buttons found on other Flip cameras. The widescreen slides up, providing an upright view with plenty of real estate for watching video.
In terms of conventional specs, the SlideHD records in 720 p at 30fps. It can record up to four hours of video and store up to 12 hours on its 16GB of on-board memory. Unfortunately, there’s no expansion slot for upgrading the available memory. The rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides two hours of recording per charge.
The Flip SlideHD carries a price tag of $279. [via Ars Technica and CNET]
