New Apple Tablet Rumors Point to an “iPhone on Steroids”
By Chris WeissBoy Genius Report published a short-but-sweet report based on word from an Apple source, which provides a few new details on the Apple Tablet, ahead of its official debut in two weeks. The new rumors indicate the tablet will be an “iPhone on Steroids”, making use of a super-fast ARM-based processor, which AppleInsider speculates to be the Cortex A-9 or A-8. The report also cites the source as stating the multi-touch gestures are “out of control”, indicating that the tablet might just live up to the hype (or at least some of it). The device is said to run on the iPhone kernel.
Soon, all the rumors will be put to bed. On January 27, Apple is hosting an event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco that is expected to be the much-anticipated tablet unveiling. We’ll then see how this latest round of rumors (and the 947 other rounds) stack up to the real thing. [BGR via AppleInsider]
