We were crossing fingers that we’d make it clean into 2010 without another dubious Apple Tablet rumor, but our dreams were vanquished today thanks to one Yair Reiner. The Oppenheimer analyst had some new predictions on the upcoming Apple Tablet and somehow it’s managed to lose tech while gaining price.

According to Yair, Apple is preparing to begin production on up to 1,000 tablets a month and will likely look to release the device in March or April of next year. Instead of the OLED that was part of previous rumors, the tablet will get a cheaper 10.1-inch LTPS LCD multi-touch display. It’ll also get a price tag of $1,000–on the upper end of previous reports and pretty steep by any measure.

The new rumor also indicates that Apple is working on an attractive deal with publishers that would give a 30/70 split (30% for Apple) without the exclusivity demanded by Amazon.

Another day, another rumor and then we wait…[via Fortune]

Why would someone pay $1000 for something that they could get for $200-300 ? Crazy people!
    hehe!
Apple iPhones and iPod touch is made in Shenzhen, China at a company called FoxConn. They're manufactured for like… $100 or less (depending on the exchange rate).
