FB MySpace Mash1 MySpace Capitulates Social Networking Space to Facebook

In actuality, the social network war between MySpace and Facebook ended long ago with Facebook emerging as victor. But like a few other wars I can think of, tiny uprisings and battles continued on long after the main fight had officially been lost. But those smaller battles and maneuverings are now all but over with MySpace waving the proverbial white flag.

In this case, the white flag is a little face-saving measure that MySpace is calling “Mashup With Facebook.” The two companies announced the move today at a press event.

The new mashup feature will essentially allow the two sites to work together, sharing likes and information from one profile to the other. Users will be able to log into MySpace directly from Facebook and will be able to pull information and updates from their Facebook profiles to their MySpace account. In other words, you’ll get to use Facebook for your core social networking and MySpace for its new focus of music and entertainment.  [via Computerworld and Digital Trends]
