U1102 MSI Wind U110 ECO Battery Runs 15 Plus Hours

MSI is entering the netbook battery pissing contest with a robust nine-cell offering that supposedly last 15 hours on a single charge. Despite all those cells, the MSI Wind U110 ECO weighs just 3.2 pounds. The usual netbook specs apply: Atom Z530 CPU at 1.6GHz, Windows XP, 1GB of RAM, Intel GMA500 graphics, 160 GB hard drive and a 10-inch screen in 1024×600 resolution. By now, I’ve learned to raise a skeptical eyebrow at manufacturer’s battery life claims (see: David Pogue’s video rant on the lack of unified battery measurement standards), but let’s hope the 15-hour metric at least entails a usable brightness level. The U110 has an MSRP of $430 and goes for $399 at Newegg. [via CrunchGear]
