MSI Introduces Its Own $500 Tablet

By

After becoming caught up in all the iPad news and analysis, CES seems like a lifetime ago. But if we learned one thing from this year’s show, it was that there were going to be a lot more tablets in 2010 than just Apple’s. MSI said yesterday that it plans to launch its own tablet later this year.

MSI didn’t release too many specs, stating instead that the specs will be flexible based on market demands. MSI did say that the tablet will feature a 10-inch color touchscreen.  The prototype tablet shown at CES featured a Nvidia Tegra 250 chip and Android. At the time, it was reported that the device should be capable of 1080p.

The tablet will be released in the second half of the year. Just like the iPad, it will start at $500.

Expect the tablet market to get crowded pretty quickly. [DigiTimes via Electronista]
