MSI GT640, A Superfast Gaming Notebook

I’m not sure what’s happening here, but multiple sites are reporting that MSI has claimed “world’s most powerful gaming notebook” with its Intel Core i7-powered GT640. Thing is, I don’t see any MSI product pages making that specific boast. Either way, the MSI GT640’s specs are worth a gander, after the jump.
Along with the aforementioned Intel Core i7 processor, the GT640 has a 15.4-inch screen and packs a 1GB NVIDIA Geforce GTS 250 graphics card, up to 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, a half-terabyte of storage and a Blu-ray burner. There’s also HDMI output, 7.1-channel audio, wireless n, eSATA input and a 2-megapixel Web cam. And in true gamer spirit, the WASD keys are highlighted in red, though we suspect your hands will naturally gravitate there anyway.
Now, about MSI’s supposedly boisterous claims about being the world’s greatest. The GT640’s product page still dubs it the “World’s fastest quad-core notebook,” but as several Engadget commenters point out, the claim to “most powerful” is one that Alienware also stakes for itself. And because MSI has added more details to its product page than it had originally, I’m guessing the company altered its wording to avoid a dispute. Eh, give it a few weeks and this’ll all be a wash anyway. [MSI Global via Engadget]
