Modern Warfare 2’s Prestige Edition, With Night Vision Goggles

Forget about the Master Chief helmet and replica Lancer — Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 takes special edition accessories to a new level of utter worthlessness. The game’s Prestige pack — which will presumably cost a lot more than the $80 special edition GameStop is listing — includes fully-functioning night-vision goggles. Now, I’m not trying to say night vision goggles aren’t awesome, but there’s a reason you don’t already have a pair: They’re utterly useless to anyone but high-tech soldiers, which you are not. In my book, the honors for best collector’s edition perk still belongs to Doom 3, which packed in the far more enjoyable original Doom and Doom 2, right on the disc. To top that, Activision would have to bundle a fully functional sniper rifle. Actually, they’d better not. [via Engadget]
