Microsoft Office 2010 Feature List and Previews
By Chris Weiss
Microsoft Office 2010 Feature List – Today, Microsoft has given developers a preview of Office 2010. Hands down the most interesting aspect of the new Office is its inclusion of Office Web Apps. In an effort to combat the unstoppable force that is Google, Microsoft will offer lighter versions of Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote designed to be operated on mobile devices and Web browsers including Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari. The cloud-based apps will allow you to work and save anywhere with Web access. While Microsoft is doing its best to “preserve the look and feel of a document regardless of device”, the Web apps won’t have all of Word’s features. They won’t be available testing for several months, so we’ll have to wait to see exactly how they stack up to Google Docs. In the meantime, here’s a look at what you’ll be able to do with the new apps. [microsoft via Washington Post]
