Microsoft Luring iPhone Developers to Zune HD With Cash – The Zune HD’s greatest (read also: only) apparent weakness is in it’s marketplace, where it is deeply disadvantaged against the iPhone App Store. To help balance this shortcoming, Microsoft has reportedly offered cash rewards to app developers to release apps for the Zune marketplace. One twitter service developer was apparently offered a “bucket of cash” to port their apps to the Zune marketplace, but declined. While no hard evidence of this and other claims have surfaced, you can certainly see why Microsoft would splurge to bolster their app marketplace. Unless Microsoft makes strides now to level the app store playing field, the iPhone will continue to remain supreme in the wars of the PMP. [via iphoneblog]
