bing Microsoft Launches Bing IPhone App

Much the way any brave warrior will pledge temporary allegiance with one enemy to pursue a mutual agenda against a bigger threat, Microsoft has put its Bing search engine on the iPhone. While Microsoft and Apple may not be the best of comrades, Google is certainly an adversary worthy of truce. The new Bing for Mobile app officially joined the ranks of the 100,000 or so  others yesterday. It’s available for free at the App Store. IPhone users will now have an alternative to Google for browsing the Web and Bing will bring its search-engine battle to a prominent new theater.

Features of the Bing app include voice search, location finding, and homescreen image of the day, which seems to begin with a random desert shot just like its Internet-bound big brother did.

So if you’d like to give the Bing app a go, stop by and pick up your copy at the iTunes App Store and see what it has to offer. [via All Things Digital and Microsoft Bing]
