MS Logo Microsoft Breaks Out New Logo for Retail Stores

Microsoft is really whetting our appetite for their upcoming retail stores. First, we learned that they’ll basically be staking out Apple stores and planting down a sidewalk sale right on their front doorstep. Now, we get a bit of information about their new store logo. According to the patent filing submitted by MS, the logo “consists of four squares arranged in a rectangular grid. Each square is colored to form three square-shaped regions within the square, with the color of each region gradating from dark to light toward the center of the design. The upper left square design is red, the lower left square is blue, the upper right square is green and the lower right square is yellow. The squares are separated by blank space.” So it’s basically Microsoft’s regular logo, only more square.

As far as chasing Apple, we weren’t exxagerating by that much. According to Reuters,  COO Kevin Turner had this to say: “”We’re going to have some retail stores opened up right next door to Apple stores this fall.” Should be more interesting than that logo. [via PC World and Engadget]
